"There are two self's; the higher and the lower self."
"The higher self is human spirit clothed with soul, made in the form of God. "
This is our God-Self. This is the God within. The Higher self is the Soul that lives within each and every one of us. "This is our Light". This Higher Self is eternal and will Never Die. Our higher-self is our connection to the Source/God.
With The knowledge of the Higher self there is no separation. The Higher self is connected to ALL things. When we are being guided by the Higher Self we realize there is actually "NO self" at all. Because all things are connected.
ALL THINGS ARE GOD, including You!!!
“No man lives unto himself; for every living thing is bound by cords to every other living thing. Blest are the pure in heart; for they will love and not demand love in return. They will not do to other men what they would not have other men do unto them."
"The universal God is one, yet he is more than one; all things are God; all things are one. By the sweet breaths of God all life is bound in one; so if you touch a fiber of a living thing you send a thrill from the center to the outer bounds of life. And when you crush beneath your foot the meanest worm, you shake the throne of God, and cause the sword of right to tremble in its sheath. The bird sings out its song for men, and men vibrate in unison to help it sing. The ant constructs her home, the bee its sheltering comb, the spider weaves her web, and flowers breathe to them a spirit in their sweet perfumes that gives them strength to toil. Now, men and birds and beasts and creeping things are deities, made flesh; and how dare men kill anything? 'Tis cruelty that makes the world awry. When men have learned that when they harm a living thing they harm themselves, they surely will not kill, nor cause a thing that God has made to suffer pain."
"The lower self, the carnal self, the body of desires, is a reflection of the higher self, distorted by the murky either of the flesh. The lower self is an illusion, and will pass away; the higher self is God in man, and will not pass away."
The Lower self is our Ignorance or Ego, that we are this physical body. The Lower self or the EGO self is illusion and will die. When we blind ourselves with the illusions of self, we can not see or hear our Higher-self. Our higher-self is God within us. and can not die. the higher-self is eternal and will live forever. This part of us, is our Light, and this Light is nurtured by our spiritual growth.
"The Lower self is the embodiment of truth reversed, and so is falsehood manifest".
The Lower-self or the ego is a lie and it is the opposite of truth. The Truth being that you are made of Goodness and Light, and are not this physical form.
"The higher self is justice, mercy, love and right; the lower self is what the higher self is not."
Our Higher self is only made up of goodness and righteousness, therefore can do no wrong to others. It is pure Unconditional Love and understands it's connection to all things. When we allow our higher-self to be our guide, we can do no harm, and have no hatred, or wrong doings for our-other-selves.
"The lower self breeds hatred, slander, lewdness, murders, theft, and everything that harms; the higher self is mother of the virtues and the harmonies of life."
The Lower Self is a veil over your higher self. It is the darkness that hides you from your truth. When we choose to listen to our lower-selves, we are in the darkness of the illusion of the lower-self. We make the choice of which self to listen too.
"The lower self is rich in promises, but poor in blessedness and peace; it offers pleasure, joy and satisfying gains; but gives unrest and misery and death. It gives men apples that are lovely to the eye and pleasant to the smell; their cores are full of bitterness and gall."
"If you would ask me what to study I would say, yourselves; and when you will have studied them, and then would ask me what to study next, I would reply, yourselves. He who knows well his lower self, knows the illusions of the world, knows of the things that pass away; and he who knows his higher self, know God; knows well the things that cannot pass away. Thrice blessed is the man who has made purity and love his very own; he has been ransomed from the perils of the lower self and is himself his higher self."
When we work or study the self this is not LOVE or Service to the Self. This is fixing our self, or teaching our self to be a better person, to others. This is focusing on doing goodness, by being of service to others and Loving them because they are You in another form. They too have the spark of the Ultimate Creator, The One.
The aim of our spiritual development is to eliminate the lower self so that the higher self becomes free again of all outer layers it has acquired.
We each have the choice to awaken to our God-self. This is the knowing of the connection to all things. This is the knowing that we are made of the Light, with our Father's Love. The Source of All creation. The One who is All Things, and All things are within Him.
