There is prophesied that there will be a day of Union. When all of Earths children will unite as one, to protect and honor this Earth and her creatures.
The Lakota claimed this prophecy as, The White Buffalo Calf Woman. With her power she will reunite this Planet. However, the story actually symbolizes the Feminine energies rising, out of the separation and control of the lower masculine vibration. As the feminine energies begin to awaken, many are connecting to this energy and bringing forth the new Earth. Each and everyone of us have both masculine, and feminine energies within us. But, for so long we have disconnected ourselves from everything that is feminine, especially the Mother's Love. With this awakening within us, we are reconnecting ourselves to the Universe.
The Lakota tribe in the United States says that one day, the White Buffalo Calf Woman, will return. "She’s awaken, a wise and magical woman who will reunite all of Mother Earth’s children with her powers. Her return will also restore our balance with nature, a relationship that’s ruined now."
"It's everyday life for us that we hold Grandmother Earth sacred, we hold the trees and the plants, everything has a spirit. We need people to be really respectful for each other. The Great Spirit put us here all together. If we're going to survive, we need to have spirit and compassion. We're asking people to go to their sacred places or sacred spaces to pray." ~ Chief Arvol Looking Horse
In this prophecy they are referring to, the awakening of the "Woman" which is the awakening of the Feminine energy. Along with this awakening within us, comes the awareness of, our connection to All things. For so long the Masculine energies has controlled this world, keeping us in the lower vibrations of fear, separation, and survival. This Prophecy is the awakening of Love for humanity and this earth. This is the Awakening Of The Mother's spirit within us.
The legend of the White Buffalo Calf Woman is over 2,000 years old. This story is originally from the Lakota nation. It is thought that Turtle Island is North America, and from the Heart of Turtle Island came this prophecy.
The Prophecy
As the prophecy goes, the White Buffalo Calf Woman appeared over 2,000 years ago, during a period of great famine, war, and turmoil between various tribes. Two young Lakota soldiers were passing through with their lean horses, looking for something to hunt. Suddenly, they saw the figure of a woman enveloped in warm light and gleaming mist.
The woman was accompanied by a white buffalo. She was tall, svelte, and dressed in sacred embroidery. She had a feather in her hair and sage in her hand. This woman was incredibly beautiful. So much so, that one of the soldiers approached her lustfully. However, before he could even graze her skin, a great dark cloud hovered over him. He was momentarily frozen by a bolt of lightning.
The other soldier immediately fell to his knees in terror, thinking that the same fate awaited him. However, the beautiful woman brushed a hand through his hair and spoke to him in his language. She told him that she was awaken, a holy woman who had come to help them.
A new era of old traditions
The Lakota town gave the woman a warm welcome. They prepared a teepee for her. As soon as she stepped inside, the morning turned to twilight and all of the lands affected by famine and misery were wrapped in an amber and rosy light. Despite this, the people tried to offer her the best of what they had. They gave her roots, insects, dried herbs, and fresh water.
After this, the White Buffalo Calf Woman taught the Lakota people how to smoke a pipe. She offered them tobacco made from red willow bark and encouraged them to go from tent to tent. This honored the sun, creating a circle of strength, and giving thanks.(The "Peace Pipe" Tradition is a symbol of Peace and has been used in ceremony of Native tribes even still today) Later, she initiated them in a series of spiritual practices they could use to revere nature, praying with all the right words and completing ancient ancestral rites that the tribe had more or less forgotten.
She invited them to sing with her to please Mother Earth. They sang melodies, verses, and incantations offered up to the four cardinal directions. She reminded them about the importance of keeping up the ceremony of the pipe of peace. In the ceremony, men and women came together to honor their souls, the community, and their union.
The White Buffalo Calf Woman said farewell. She told the Lakota she would protect them as long as they followed these ceremonies and took care of the earth. Before going, she pulled a great herd of black buffalo from the horizon. There were so many of them that the mountains turned black and the ground trembled under their hooves. The world boomed forcefully with the sound of the animals. They would finally bring about the survival of the Native Americans.
The holy woman left them, saying: “Toksha ake wacinyanktin ktelo”, or “I shall see you again”. The Lakota keep on repeating this message to this day as they dream of her returning to purify the world. They hope she will bring harmony, balance, and spirituality to all nations. (Source)
Balancing Within the "Positive" of The Masculine and Feminine.
For so long we have suppressed the feminine aspect of ourselves, Now the feminine is manifesting herself within us, and we are remembering the Love we are. However, we are not forgetting about the masculine part of ourselves, we are balancing the two aspects to become "Whole".
Chief Arvol Looking Horse Speaks of White Buffalo Prophecy
Chief Arvol Looking Horse, 19th generation Keeper of the Sacred White Buffalo Calf Pipe. The leader of the Lakota Dakota Nakota Oyate, the great Sioux nation, is a man with a vision.
A Great Urgency: To All World Religious and Spiritual Leaders
My Relatives,
Time has come to speak to the hearts of our Nations and their Leaders. I ask you this from the bottom of my heart, to come together from the Spirit of your Nations in prayer. We, from the heart of Turtle Island, have a great message for the World; we are guided to speak from all the White Animals showing their sacred color, which have been signs for us to pray for the sacred life of all things. The dangers we are faced with at this time are not of spirit, mistakes that we cannot afford to continue to make. I asked, as Spiritual Leaders, that we join together, united in prayer with the whole of our Global Communities. My concern is these serious issues will continue to worsen, as a domino effect that our Ancestors have warned us of in their Prophecies. I know in my heart there are millions of people that feel our united prayers for the sake of our Grandmother Earth are long overdue. I believe we as Spiritual people must gather ourselves and focus our thoughts and prayers to allow the healing of the many wounds that have been inflicted on the Earth. As we honor the Cycle of Life, let us call for Prayer circles globally to assist in healing Grandmother Earth (our Unc¹I Maka), and that we may also seek to live in harmony, as we make the choice to change the destructive path we are on. As we pray, we will fully understand that we are all connected. And that what we create can have lasting effects on all life. So let us unite spiritually, All Nations, All Faiths, One Prayer. Along with this immediate effort, I also ask to please remember World Peace and Prayer Day/ Honoring Sacred Sites day. Whether it is a natural site, a temple, a church, a synagogue or just your own sacred space, let us make a prayer for all life, for good decision making by our Nations, for our children¹s future and well-being, and the generations to come.
Onipikte (that we shall live), Chief Arvol Looking Horse sees a great danger threatening "Grandmother Earth" and a great hope for restoring her wholeness. So he is calling all nations to prayer of any kind in an effort to return the planet to balance, the people to spirit. I asked him why this path is the right path to take. "A man or a woman without spirit is very dangerous," Looking Horse explained in a recent phone interview. According to this Sioux chief, the absence of spirit is causing suffering everywhere. "We are in a time of survival," he said. "But we don't want to believe it because we have forgotten our spirits. We have forgotten that Grandmother Earth has a spirit." Disconnected souls are hurting others without even knowing they are hurting others." Those being hurt include animals, trees and waterways.
The Sioux have an inclusive worldview, but it was not shared by the transplanted Europeans who undertook genocide on Indian land, culminating in the Wounded Knee massacre of 1890. That final brutality broke the "hoop" binding Indians together; however, Sioux prophecy foretold that in a hundred years the people would be reunited.
Although surviving tribe members and their descendants were stripped of religious freedoms (returned to them only 32 year ago by the U.S. government), the rituals were kept and the prophecy not forgotten.
So the Sioux nations set out on horseback to "mend the broken hoop" of their nation in 1986 at a sacred site known to non-Indians as Devils Tower or the Great Horn Butte; their ritual went on for four years and concluded in 1990, 100 years after Wounded Knee.
During the course of that long ritual, Looking Horse was surprised by a vision that came to him of peace and unity that included not only the Indian nations but all the nations of the world, each gathering with ritual plants around sacred fires on every continent. The Sioux chief felt called to oversee a much broader mending. But who was going to listen even to the chief of a people largely ignored in the country where they lived?
"It's everyday life for us that we hold Grandmother Earth sacred, we hold the trees and the plants, everything has a spirit. We need people to be really respectful for each other. The Great Spirit put us here all together. If we're going to survive, we need to have spirit and compassion. We're asking people to go to their sacred places or sacred spaces to pray."
